Public consultation
Whitchurch Under 5’s are proposing to join Wansdyke Primary, as part of the Futura Learning Partnership.
The preschool is currently run by a board of Trustees, who volunteer their time to support the running of the setting. This is increasingly challenging, with increased regulations, changes to funding and staff training requirements. As part of the Futura Learning Trust, training and support are provided centrally, with collaboration made easier both with Wansdyke Primary and other Early Years settings.
Both the Trustees and Futura Learning Partnership are in discussion with Bristol City Council and the Department for Education, to seek approval for this change. As part of this process we would like to get your feedback, via the form linked below:
Proposed merger of Whitchurch Under 5’s with Wansdyke Primary – fill in the form
Please be assured that names and postcodes will be removed before submission to the LA and Department for Education. When you submit this form, it will not automatically collect your details such as name and email address, unless you provide it yourself.
The consultation will close on the 26th April 2026.
Admissions
All admissions, for all children of any age, to Wansdyke Primary School are dealt with by the Bristol City Council’s school admissions team.
Children start school the September after their 4th birthday. However, you apply online between the September and January prior to them starting school in the September. For example, children starting school in September 2026, you will need to apply online between 1 September 2025 and 15 January 2026.
We offer ‘show rounds’ between September and January every year to give prospective parents a chance to come and see the school and meet our Reception teachers. For more information regarding SEND please see our SEND local offer.
If you would like a tour of school before submitting your application, please telephone the school on 0117 903 0218 and book an appointment.
