E-safety
Here at Northgate, we understand the importance of e-safety. We teach our children about how to stay safe when they are using the internet including what to do if they discover content they do not like and what information to share or not to share. We also highlight the need to ask for and give permission before sharing anything online.
In school we use the ActiveBYTES online safety scheme. It provides an age-appropriate online safety curriculum that is flexible, relevant and engages pupils’ interest. This scheme:
- Increases pupil involvement and promotes active learning.
- Promotes partnership with parents, providing ideas for sharing learning with families.
- Offers a range of reward materials including posters, certificates , stickers and assessment.
The parental partnership includes a number of hints and tips on how to promote online safety at home as well as at school. Below is a letter for parents regarding e-safety, as well as a template for a gameplan which encourages children and parents to agree on how they use electronic devices and the online world safely and for everyone’s benefit. These can be printed off.

CEOP
CEOP is here to keep children safe from sexual abuse and grooming online.
CEOP are unable to respond to reports about bullying, fake accounts or account hacking.
We are here to help and give you advice. You can also make a report directly to us if something has happened online which has made you feel unsafe, scared or worried. This might be from someone you know in real life, or someone you have only ever met online. We take all reports seriously and we will do everything we can to keep you safe.
As well as making a report to us, the CEOP Education website has information and advice to help you if something has happened to you online
