Daily Routines

Gates are open from 8:35am. Our pupils must arrive by 8:45am for registration on each school day and the end of the compulsory school day is 3:15pm. Total hours provided in a typical week is: 32.5 hours. Registers will be taken at 8:45am. Arrivals 8.50-9am will be marked as late; after 9am will be unauthorised absence.

PERMISSION TO WALK HOME ALONE FOR CHILDREN

At Mary Elton, only children from Year 5 and Year 6 will be allowed to walk home alone with written permission from their parents or carers. On an annual basis we ask parents/carers to sign a form to give permission to allow their Year 5 and 6 child to walk home

In the interests of child safety:

If you have not completed the form your Year 5 or 6 child will not be allowed home alone, and you will be contacted by the school office.
If your Year 5 and 6 child walks home alone they are not allowed to take responsibility for younger brothers and sisters.
We trust that a responsible adult will be waiting for the Year 5 and 6 children with permission to walk home, at home for their arrival.
Parents/carers have a responsibility to ensure the school is informed of any changes to parent /carer contact details i.e. mobile and landline telephone numbers.
