Learning Gems

Learning Gems are what we use to support the children in becoming effective learners. They link very closely with our Christian Values. They are used to make the children aware of effective learning and also as rewards during our Celebration Service. There is an award for each Gem and Christian Value. In June 2017, the children requested that we create a new Gem, for they felt there was no Gem to represent creativity. Therefore, we now have ‘Opal Gem’, which is used to recognise creativity in learning. In September 2018, another Learning Gem was created – ‘Obsidian’ for general knowledge; this was decided by the children.
