When two trusts explore the possibility of merging, there is a detailed process of information gathering to understand whether they are the right fit for one another. Following this period of work, and after discussions with the Department for Education and the Diocese of Bath and Wells, the Board of Trustees of Futura Learning Partnership has concluded that a merger with Olympus Academy Trust at this time would not be in the best interests of our pupils and colleagues.
This has been a difficult decision, taken with a clear focus on ensuring the quality of education and wellbeing of the communities we serve. Throughout the process, our priority has remained providing stability, strong leadership and high standards across all our schools.
We would like to again express our sincere condolences following the recent and tragic passing of Dave Baker, the founding CEO of Olympus Academy Trust. Our thoughts remain with his family and colleagues. We will continue to offer support where it is helpful and welcome during this difficult period.
We are grateful to all who have supported the merger process, including our school communities. Their commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people has been evident throughout.
