LEADERSHIP TEAM

The Leadership Team has overall responsibility for the running of the trust.

GARY SCHLICK

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

With 15 years’ headship in two secondary schools and executive leadership in other schools and specialist settings, Gary has significant experience in school leadership and in raising achievement. Gary has been involved in training headteachers internationally including in Africa and the Middle East. Much of his current work is involved in school improvement.
TIM HOWES

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Tim joined the Trust in August 2014 following a 20-year career in the hospitality industry, at Accor Hotels and previously at Disney and Marriott Hotels. He has significant experience in financial strategy, estates management, human resources and marketing. Tim leads the Trust’s business services teams, responsible for delivering shared professional services to all academies.
ADY TOMSA

CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER

Having spent the first 10+ years of his career in a global FTSE listed recruitment consultancy in numerous leadership roles, Ady then spent 5.5 years leading HR teams in the utility industry.

Ady has a passion for talent and is looking forward to bringing his experience in creating engaged workforces and organisational design and transformation to Futura.
DEAN ANDERSON

DIRECTOR OF SECONDARY

With over thirty years in education, Dean has a wealth of senior and Executive Leadership experience that he brings to the role. He has been a Principal, Executive Principal and Director of Education. He has a Masters in Education Leadership and has worked extensively with schools to raise attainment and improve standards. Dean enjoys working with school leaders to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for young people.
STEPHEN LUKE

DIRECTOR OF PRIMARY

Stephen has 25 years of experience in leading schools as a headteacher, executive headteacher and director of education. During this time he led nine schools from an inadequate judgement to good or outstanding within a three year period. This experience was gained at schools in areas of high deprivation and resulted in rapid raising of outcomes for all pupils.
TAMARA DEXTER

EDUCATION DIRECTOR

Tamara has worked in education for over 20 years in four Trusts and five Local Authorities. She has substantial experience of delivering strategic leadership that has resulted in demonstrable school and Trust success, including achieving outstanding OFSTED inspections in multiple schools.

Tamara has worked as a Local Leader of Education and Headteacher Advocate for the Boolean Maths Hub and a DFE Area Lead for the EYFS Covid Recovery Programme. In addition to her role in Futura, she is an Evidence Lead in Education for the Gloucestershire Research Hub and a Visiting Fellow for Five Counties and Best Practice.
