Students at Futura Learning Partnership’s secondary schools achieved excellent outcomes in GCSE, BTEC and vocational qualifications in 2024.
The trust is proud of these learners, whose early years of secondary education were disrupted by the pandemic, for their resilience and determination. We wish them success and happiness as they begin the next chapter of their lives.
Many of them are staying with us for sixth form, while others are moving on to college, apprenticeships and the wider world of work. We know they all have the capacity to thrive.
Our thanks go to the dedicated staff in our schools for all they have done for these students and to families for all the support they have given.
Bedminster Down School is celebrating its best set of GCSE results for a number of years.
Headteacher Louise Davies said: “These students were in secondary school for only a few months when Covid hit and we went into lockdown. They have confronted enormous challenges. It’s therefore all the more impressive that they have done so well this year. We’re delighted that our young people’s hard work and determination have paid off. We hope our students feel proud of all that they’ve achieved as part of the Bedminster Down community.”
BDS student Ka Yui Lam wants to be an Aerospace Engineer and is delighted to get 8s in his Maths and Sciences. When he moved to the UK from Hong Kong, he said that he found maths really difficult, and he’s grateful to his teacher for developing a love of the subject
Chilton Trinity School is proud of students’ strong outcomes and in particular of this cohort’s significant improvement in English and Maths grades.
Headteacher Kathryn Deady said: “I am thrilled there has been a significant improvement in the progress students have made throughout their time with us. These fantastic results are a good example of collaboration at its absolute best between hardworking students, their families and our committed staff.”
Clevedon School students achieved some excellent GCSE results, which were above the national average overall.
Headteacher Jim Smith said: “The students should feel very proud of themselves as their journey to GCSEs has been impacted in many ways.
“Yet despite this, they have achieved tremendous outcomes and made progress above the national average.”
IKB Academy students have benefited from the support and personal care of a small school to achieve some fantastic results.
Headteacher Pete Headeach said: “We are proud of all our students who have made outstanding progress through Year 10 and 11, many having overcome significant challenges throughout their education. They have demonstrated determination, resilience and hard work.”
SBL Academy saw excellent GCSE results with a big increase in top grades – 16 students achieved eight or more 9-7 grades including one student who got straight 9s! SBL is equally proud of the students who might not have got the top grades but worked hard to make excellent progress from their starting points.
Headteacher Dr Robin Bassford said: “It has been a great privilege to work with this group of students whose determination, resilience and collaboration have been rewarded with an excellent set of results. The unwavering support, encouragement and care provided by the staff at SBL and their parents have played a significant part in their success.”

Wellsway School’s Class of 2024 were challenged to be the best they could be – and they delivered, with some excellent GCSE outcomes.
Headteacher Rob Pearsall said: “We are very proud of our students who have worked so hard to achieve these results and we are grateful for the support we always receive from parents to ensure their children strive to do their best.”
