Schools in Futura Learning Partnership ended 2024-25 by celebrating some excellent results in A-level, GCSE , BTec, T-level and vocational qualifications.
Congratulations to all students on their hard work and successes, and best wishes to them as they begin the next stage of their lives, whether that means staying on in one of our sixth forms or branching out to college, apprenticeships, training or employment.
We are proud of every achievement and are so grateful to the dedicated staff in our schools and Trust who support every young person so well. We are also grateful to parents and carers and our school communities for the backing they give us.
It was a pleasure to see Futura students’ determination and resilience shared with the wider community via regional BBC news programmes this year – Wellsway and IKB Academy for A-levels, and SBL Academy a week later for GCSEs.
A-LEVEL
At Clevedon School, students achieved success despite being taught in temporary marquee accommodation for two years due to problems with the school buildings.
Leavers secured places at a variety of universities and competitive apprenticeships. Others opted for a gap year or entering the world of work following extensive careers and guidance support in the Sixth Form. Clevedon’s ‘Post18 Pathway’ is rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
An impressive 38 per cent of grades achieved at the school were A* or A and 100 per cent of courses were completed.
Headteacher Jim Smith said: “I am so proud of the achievements of each and every student. Everyone has a story to tell and we celebrate those stories.”
Head of Sixth Form Chris Blake added: “It is exciting that the students can now access the next chapter of their life, be it university, apprenticeships or employment, knowing they have done themselves proud.”
Sir Bernard Lovell Academy Sixth Form is celebrating some excellent achievements by the Class of 2025. The school is particularly pleased with strong results in mathematics and geography and the outstanding outcomes achieved by our students in creative media and business.
More than 90 per cent of students who applied to university were successful in securing places at their chosen institution, including an increased number at Russell Group universities.
Other students have been offered high quality apprenticeships both locally and further afield.
Headteacher Robin Bassford said: “It has been a real privilege and joy to have worked with this cohort of students who are a credit to themselves, their parents and our staff. I am so proud of each and every one of them, not just because of their brilliant results but also for their significant contributions to the wider school life at SBL.”
Students at Wellsway School and IKB Academy saw their commitment and effort rewarded with some brilliant results in A-level and vocational qualifications.
Successful young people are going on to study at universities including Cambridge and Imperial College London while others have secured exciting apprenticeships in areas as diverse as nuclear engineering and motorsport.
The school is pleased that almost all students achieved grades needed to progress to the next stage of their chosen route in either education, training or employment and is proud that so many of them have made such strong contributions to the school and community.

We would like to thank the students and teachers for their hard work, and the parents for their support, over the last seven years.”

Their achievements reflect academic success, personal growth and resilience. It’s been a pleasure to see them thrive and we wish them every success in the future.”
GCSE
Bedminster Down students are celebrating the school’s best set of GCSE results for a number of years.
Headteacher Louise Davies said: “We’re delighted that the hard work and determination of our young people has paid off. On every key measure our results are better than ever. Our students and their families are rightly proud of all that they’ve achieved, and we’re proud of them. They deserve their success.
“The students who are receiving their results in 2025 had a difficult time during Covid. It’s therefore all the more impressive that they have done so well this year. A big thank you is also due to the staff who’ve supported our young people so brilliantly.”
Chilton Trinity School is proud of its students’ successes in GCSE, BTec and vocational qualifications.
A record number secured a grade 9 in English Language and English Literature, while many students gained the standard and strong passes in English and Maths that are an important gateway to Post-16 courses and opportunities.
Headteacher Kathryn Deady said: “I am delighted students in this Year 11 cohort have attained so well across a range of their subjects and I would also like to extend my thanks to parents, carers, extended family and our dedicated staff who have all worked tirelessly in the best interest of our students.
“At Chilton Trinity, our Vision is ‘Success Breeds Success’ and we wish our students the very best of luck and future successes on the next exciting phase of their education or training and career paths.”
Clevedon School Year 11 received a bumper crop of GCSE exam outcomes – the school’s best ever!
Results, including Grades 9-7 and overall passes, were significantly above the national average, and there were some wonderful individual stories as well as collective success for the year group as a whole.
Headteacher Jim Smith said: “I am really pleased that these wonderful students have been able to open such stunning results. The students should feel very proud of themselves as their journey to GCSEs has, in theory, been impacted by our school buildings. But in reality, subjects taught in the temporary Learning Village have achieved some of their best ever results.”
The success achieved by students at Sir Bernard Lovell Academy reflects not only the academic talent of students but also the dedication of teaching staff, the support of families, and the strength of the school community as a whole.
Seventeen students achieved five or more 9-7 grades, including three students who got at least eight grade 9s. The school is equally delighted for the students who made excellent progress from their starting points in Year 7 and in some cases achieved great results in the face of adversity. It is also important to recognise the wider achievements of this year group during their time at SBL, for example in extra-curricular activities like the popular Duke of Edinburgh programme, public speaking, the performing arts and our various sports teams.
Headteacher Robin Bassford said: “Results day represents the culmination of five years of growth, learning, and character-building. These students leave us not only with great qualifications under their belt but with the skills, confidence and ambition needed to open doors to success in the next stage of their lives. We wish all of our Year 11 leavers.”
Wellsway School and IKB Academy saw a host of happy faces on results day, with many students achieving results beyond their dreams.
Headteacher Rob Pearsall said: “This year group has grown into thoughtful, capable and compassionate young adults. Their success is shared by everyone who has supported them along the way. We are proud not just of their grades, but of the people they have become.”
A number of students achieved exceptional grades, with high numbers of 8s and 9s. Others faced challenges, adapted to change, and consistently demonstrated the drive to overcome whatever stood in their way and were rewarded with success. Many, including a record number from IKB, are staying on at the school for sixth form.
Mr Pearsall said: “As Executive Headteacher of both Wellsway School and IKB Academy, I am proud of the exceptional achievements of IKB students. Their commitment to learning and passion for STEM subjects have led to another year of outstanding GCSE results. For both Wellsway and IKB there are so many other individuals that we could name for their achievements; many have exceeded expectations.
“Our congratulations and admiration go to all our students who have conducted themselves brilliantly throughout their time with us at Wellsway School and IKB Academy.”
