In the face of strong competition from external candidates, homegrown talent has successfully filled all three headteacher vacancies in Futura schools. Massive congratulations to Emmee Standeven, Kirsty Jones, and Katie Sharp for being promoted to the role of headteacher.
We asked each person to reflect on their journey to becoming a headteacher and what the role means to them.
Emmee Standeven, Chestnut Park
I am incredibly proud and excited to lead Chestnut Park as we continue to grow. This school holds a very special place in my heart. I’m passionate about creating an environment where every child feels seen, valued, and inspired to thrive.
I secured this role following my experience as Acting Headteacher, a journey made possible by Futura’s ongoing support, development opportunities and belief.
Kirsty Jones, Yeo Moor
I am delighted to be stepping into the role of headteacher at Yeo Moor Primary School. My experience as an Assistant Headteacher has been invaluable in preparing me for this next step and it is a true honour and privilege to take on the role. I’m excited to build on the many strengths of our wonderful school and to ensure every individual flourishes as we embark on this next chapter together.
Katie Sharp, Willowdown
I feel incredibly privileged to have been appointed Headteacher at Willowdown. I’m excited to continue to work with our amazing children, fantastic staff team and caring community to ensure every child feels valued, supported and able to flourish.
I secured this role following a secondment to Willowdown as Deputy Headteacher. Previously, I worked in leadership roles in two other Futura schools alongside a Trust role developing the curriculum.
