Futura schools have been echoing to the sound of music as our youngest pupils discover the joy of singing and performing.
Nursery and reception children joined forces for a series of EYFS music festivals led by the Trust’s Director of Music Ingrid McLean.
The children came together at one school in each of Futura’s hubs to learn songs and experiment with a variety of woodwind instruments.
A ditty about what to put in a backpack and the action song Wiggle Jiggle proved highly popular.
Ms McLean said: “Each class also performed their own song and it was particularly special to see children standing in front of their peers perhaps having one of their first experiences of singing to a crowd in a special venue.
“My thanks to all the wonderful staff who supported this event so enthusiastically. As ever, it demonstrates the power of music and the joy of coming together to make music. The future of young musicians looks bright!”
Tamara Dexter, Futura’s Director of EYFS, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to come together to showcase their creative talents. Many thanks to Ingrid McLean and everyone involved.”
