Sir Bernard Lovell Academy takes seriously its responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of the children and young people in its care. The welfare and safety of the children in our care is of paramount importance to us and we foster a culture of vigilance among staff, students and parents/carers.

We always listen to children and take their concerns seriously.

Domestic abuse

Operation Encompass

As a school, we are committed to supporting the victims of domestic abuse. Operation Encompass is a process whereby the police will inform a member of staff if a child or young person has experienced any domestic incident.

If you have any concerns relating to domestic abuse, please do not hesitate to contact us tel: 0117 456 5900 (ask for a member of the Safeguarding Team) or by completing the report a safeguarding concern online form.

We work alongside external agencies to ensure that those that experience and witness domestic abuse are appropriately supported.
