Year 6 Open Week and Open Evening

There is so much more to find out about what makes SBL the special place it is today and so we do hope that you will come and visit us in person. 

Open Week, Monday 14th – Thursday 17th September 2026, gives parents, carers and students the opportunity to walk around the school and experience a typical school day. You will also have the opportunity for a Q&A session with either the Headteacher or a member of our Senior Leadership Team. Due to limited spaces, these sessions need to be booked in advance via our website from Friday 4th September.

Our annual Open Evening is on Thursday 1st October 2026 from 5.00pm – 8.00pm. This is always a popular evening which gives parents, carers and students the opportunity to walk around the school visiting each of our curriculum areas. There will be a variety of activities going on and experienced members of staff on hand in every room to answer any questions you may have. You do not need to book to attend our Open Evening however, if you would like to attend one of the Headteacher presentations being held at 5.15pm, 6.15pm and 7.15pm, you will need to book tickets. The booking link will be made available on our website from Friday 4th September. The presentation will last for approximately 30 minutes and include a speech from Dr Bassford as well as talks from our new Year 7 and older students which will give you a true insight into school life at SBL.

Sixth Form Open Evening

We have designed an exciting and broad curriculum for our students to study from, enabling them to equip themselves for employment, higher education and life. Students can choose to study from a wide range of A-Levels and BTECs, in a caring and supportive environment.
